The MasterBuilt Soft Flare series was designed as a companion to the Classic series. Conceived as an answer for cinematographers that requested a flare structure with softer edges and smoother contrast. The immersive look is a combination of warmth and nautral detail that is flattering to skin tones. Evoking an analog style the Soft Flare series offer rounded edges, soft roll-off between the foreground /  background objects and pronounced flare. The Soft Flare series lenses impart an organic feel that many cinematographers prefer over the often sterile look of contemporary optics. The coatings and special internal characteristics of these lenses create a softer flare augmenting contrast and saturation.
